Most of the time, when recording an album, there are a lot of songs written and recorded or demoed that don't end up making it onto the album. This is a group of the songs that were written for Ars Moriendi but didn't make it onto the album, plus a couple of covers. Many of them are demos rather than fully mixed recordings, sort of the early idea of a song rather than a finished version that didn't make it.
